Nigerian singer and songwriter, BNXN, hosted an exclusive release party in partnership with Don Julio to celebrate the success of his acclaimed album, CAPTAIN, released under global record label EMPIRE in July 2025. The celebration followed the completion of his North American tour, marking another milestone in what has been a defining year for the Afrobeats star.
Held on September 27th in Ikoyi, Lagos, the intimate event gathered industry tastemakers, collaborators, friends, and fans for a night of music and celebration. Guests enjoyed curated cocktails and tequila shots from Don Julio, including the signature Don Paloma, inspired by BNXN’s creative journey. The evening featured live performances from the artiste, who performed select tracks from CAPTAIN and fan favorites from his earlier discography, including a standout rendition of “Very Soon” with Afro-R&B artiste, FOLA.

Speaking at the event, BNXN shared: “I’m here with the people that love my music, with my favorite tequila brand in my favorite city. What more can I ask for? This album has brought me to an exciting point in my career and I can’t wait for you all to see what’s next. CAPTAIN for me is the turning point Afrobeats needed and it’s the project you need to listen to at every point in life. If you ever feel down or lost, stream CAPTAIN. The event drew a diverse guest list, including Bizzle Osikoya, Taves, Shine TTW, Do2tun, and Hermes Iyele, alongside fans, tastemakers, and collaborators. As the official partner, Don Julio elevated the evening with its premium tequila experiences, blending music and craftsmanship to create an unforgettable night.

Closing the celebration, BNXN described the moment as a major milestone in his artistic journey as he continues to expand his global footprint. Following the success of CAPTAIN, he is set to embark on a European tour with headline shows at London’s O2 Indigo on November 2nd, Manchester’s New Century Hall on November 9th, and Stockholm on November 22nd, with additional dates to be announced.
