Burna Boy, Davido, Mia Guissé, Moliy, and El Grande Toto Among Leading Nominees for 2025 AFRIMA

AFRIMA will be held from November 25th to 30th, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria.

African artistes: Burna Boy, Davido, Mia Guissé, Moliy, El Grande Toto, and others have been announced as nominees across multiple categories at the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). The award show will be held from November 25 to 30, 2025, live in Lagos, Nigeria.

Burna Boy and Davido lead the field with five nominations each, including coveted spots in ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’. They are joined by South Africa’s DJ Maphorisa, Morocco’s rap powerhouse, El Grande Toto, Senegalese singer, Mia Guissé, and Ghana’s sensation, Moliy, who also scored five nods.

Nigeria’s Shallipopi continues his meteoric rise with four nominations, including ‘Artiste of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ for his hit “Laho”. He is matched by Egypt’s Amr Diab, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Tyla, and eSwatini’s Uncle Waffles, highlighting the breadth of Africa’s pop renaissance.

This year’s edition recorded 10,717 entries, which is the highest in AFRIMA’s history. Jury member Delani Makhalima described the moment as a landmark for the continent: “Twelve years in, we’re now here. This is global. This is AFRIMA, the biggest music entity on the face of the continent”, he says.

Established in partnership with the African Union, AFRIMA has become the premier stage for recognising African artistry and amplifying the continent’s growing cultural influence on the global stage.
