2025 AMVCA: How the Stars Lit up the Night With Style

AMVCA

Here, we spotlight some of the most unforgettable looks of the night; the ones that turned heads, owned the moment, and reminded us why this celebration matters.

Over the years, the AMVCA has grown into one of the most star-studded and prominent fashion moments on the African entertainment calendar, so much so that it’s easy to forget the event is really not just about clothes and style. At its core, the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards — presented by MultiChoice and first awarded in 2013 — is a celebration of excellence in African film and television. It is a night built to honour the visionaries behind the screen: the actors, directors, producers, and storytellers shaping the continent’s cinematic identity.

Still, it’s impossible to ignore how the fashion has evolved into its own moment. Even before the main event, celebrities had already begun making powerful cultural style statements at the AMVCA Cultural Day,  a rich celebration of African heritage held just 24 hours prior.

Then on the 10th of May, the halls of the iconic Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, played host once again to this grand convergence of cinema and style, as Africa’s brightest names in film and television gathered for the 11th edition of the AMVCA.

And as always, fashion tells its own story. Here, we spotlight some of the most unforgettable looks of the night; the ones that turned heads, owned the moment, and reminded us why this celebration matters.

Adebimpe Oyebade (Mo Bimpe)

On a night that saw her win the Best Indigenous Language (West Africa) alongside her husband, Adedimeji Lateef, for their film Lisabi: The Uprising, Adebimpe Oyebade embodied the AMVCA 2025’s “Mother Earth” theme with striking clarity.

Elozonam

Nollywood actor and BBNaija star Elozonam Ogbolu brought his signature polish and flair to the 2025 AMVCA red carpet in a bespoke four-piece ensemble designed by Jeff Urban. Shades of green, brown, and soft grey curved across the fabric in fluid, organic shapes — each one delicately framed by golden-brown beading, reminiscent of rings on a tree trunk. Mushroom-like embellishments adorned the lower half of the gown, rising subtly like forest fungi, and giving the entire look an enchanting, earthy dimension that was deeply in sync with the “Mother Earth” theme.

Doyinsola David

BBN star and brand influencer, Doyinsola David, left many in awe with her stunning appearance on the 2025 AMVCA red carpet. Designed by Mitchelle Amadi, She wore a forest-themed gown in deep green and earthy brown, featuring a striking design inspired by woody climbing plants that wrap around trees.
