French-Angolan artiste and producer, Agatchu, has released a new single titled “Maradona”, serving as the first solo offering from the rising star in 2025 ahead of his forthcoming sophomore EP. The slow-burning track arrives following the success of “One For Me” with Ya Levis released in February, and further cements Agatchu’s place as one of the most exciting new voices redefining the global African sound.
Blending English, Yoruba, and French lyrics, “Maradona” draws from West African Pop influences and contemporary R&B, while spotlighting Agatchu’s Nigerian heritage and multicultural identity.

According to Agatchu, the track is inspired by the tension and vulnerability that define the dynamics of romantic relationships. “It’s a celebration of love, and the intricate dynamics and vulnerabilities we all experience in relationships”, he shares.
Since his official debut less than a year ago, Agatchu has earned strong support from industry tastemakers including Spotify, Apple Music, BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Mouv, Générations, and Vevo DSCVR. With standout singles like “New Maserati” and “Stamina” featuring Joé Dwet Filè, and the critically received debut EP, Believe, Agatchu continues to push sonic boundaries with a sound defined by authenticity and bold creativity.
