Grammy Award-winning singer, Tems, is set to bring her women-focused movement, the Leading Vibe Initiative, to Nairobi, Kenya, on September 29, 2025. The one-day programme is designed to empower the next generation of women in music through workshops, mentorship, and industry networking.
Following its successful in-person debut in Lagos in August, where 20 emerging women creatives took part in songwriting and production sessions, the Nairobi edition will engage female artists, songwriters, and producers aged 18–35. Participants will access immersive programming, including masterclasses and panel discussions led by industry leaders, sharpening their craft while building valuable connections.

The Lagos edition was powered by Native Instruments and Hennessy, with Tems personally hosting a welcome dinner to underline her mission of expanding access for women in music. Speaking at the event, she said: “In Africa and around the world, there are thousands of young women with the drive and potential to make history in music. The Leading Vibe Initiative is about creating space for them to find their voice, step into their power, and shape the future of music”.

Applications for the Nairobi edition closed on August 30, 2025, reflecting the strong interest the initiative has already generated. With its vibrant cultural scene and pool of emerging talent, Nairobi stands as the ideal second stop in Tems’ vision for a continent-wide movement that spotlights, connects, and elevates women creatives across Africa through mentorship, resources, and collaboration opportunities.
