The 14th edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) concluded in Lagos on Saturday, 8th November 2025, with the 2025 AFRIFF Globe Awards ceremony, the annual prize-giving event established to honour excellence in African and diaspora cinema among films screened at the festival.
The AFRIFF 2025 Special Jury Prize for Outstanding Film was awarded to Ben Proudfoot’s The Eyes of Ghana (2025, United States), which also won Best Documentary Film, while Best Feature Film went to Nwamaka Chikezie’s feature debut, To Adaego With Love (2025, Nigeria).
Among the international entries, Kalu Oji’s debut feature, Pasa Faho (2025, Australia), took home Best International Feature Film, while Vincent Le Gal, Alune Wade’s Tukki: From Roots to Bayou (2024, France), the AFRIFF 2025 closing film, clinched the award for Best International Documentary.
The AFRIFF 2025 Audience Choice Award went to Chee Keong Cheung’s Son of the Soil (2025, United Kingdom/Nigeria), a Lagos-set action film that excited festival goers.
