Afrocritik, the Pan-African culture platform, has announced the upcoming release of its flagship Afrocritik Report 2025, scheduled for publication in early March.
The annual publication aims to serve as a comprehensive cultural record of the year, gathering critical voices and intellectuals from across the African creative ecosystem to document and analyse the defining moments of 2025.
Structured as a multidisciplinary, essay-driven compendium, the report will explore the year’s most significant developments across film, music, visual arts, literature, and broader cultural movements. The publication seeks to capture not only the events themselves but also the underlying ideas, tensions, and breakthroughs that influenced the continent’s creative output.
“The Afrocritik Report is conceived as more than a throwback”, the platform stated. “It is a critical representation of the artistic currents that shape contemporary African culture”.
The 2025 edition will feature contributions from a diverse group of writers, critics, and professionals who will provide analytical insights into the year’s cultural landscape. Upon release, the Afrocritik Report 2025 will be accessible via Afrocritik’s official digital platforms.
