Grammy Award-nominated producer and songwriter, Shizzi, returns with a much-anticipated new single, “Famous”, featuring rising Afro-Pop talent, Tayor. The track, released via OBG Records, is a bright, captivating afrofusion love anthem anchored in Shizzi’s signature percussion bounce and sticky groove, paired with Tayor’s emotive vocals and lyrical vulnerability.
The record came together in pure flow. Shizzi unearthed a hypnotic Indian sample and built warm chords, bounce, and percussion on the spot. Virtuoso bassist, Siyabonga Wonder Hlengetwa, added a live low-end to bring the track home, creating a cinematic offering that feels spontaneous yet ready for global stages. The release marks the first official collaboration between both talented artistes and the opening statement for OBG Records’ artiste-development mission. Through Tayor’s lyrical storytelling, the song captures the tension between rising fame and real intimacy, as he navigates temptation and public pressure while staying loyal to one woman. His cheeky, melodic delivery blends streetwise confidence with tender vulnerability, spiced with Yoruba asides, playful metaphors, and a sticky, sing-along groove.
