South African comedian, Trevor Noah, is set to return as the host of this year’s Grammy Awards, marking his fifth consecutive stint as host for music’s biggest night. Noah first took on the hosting role in 2021, during a ceremony that adhered to strict social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a report, this milestone ties Noah with iconic American rapper and actor, LL Cool J, for the third-most times hosting the Grammys. He is now just two editions away from matching American singer, Andy Williams, who holds the record with seven Grammy hosting gigs.

Noah’s responsibilities this year extend beyond entertainment, as Los Angeles grapples with the aftermath of devastating wildfires.
Recording Academy President, Harvey Mason Jr., in a statement, said, “In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort, and unite like nothing else. The Grammys will not only honor the artistry and achievements of our music community but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines this great city of Los Angeles”.
The Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 2, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Several African artistes are nominated this year, which includes Tems, Burna Boy, Angelique Kidjo, Davido, Yemi Alade, and others.
