Nigerian songwriter and vocal powerhouse, Waje, announces the exclusive release of her latest EP on Gala Music, a revolutionary Web3-powered digital platform that provides artistes with more control over their music. Starting from May 8th, fans can get early access to the project on the platform, ahead of its availability on digital streaming platforms worldwide.
The EP features four tracks: “Worries” and “Odo” already available, and “With You” and “Energy” to be released on May 22nd.
Waje spoke on the recent development, saying, “I am truly excited about my new releases coming exclusively on Gala Music. ‘Worries’ is an upbeat feel-good Afrobeat/Pop-Fusion song produced by Nigerian hitmaker, Mr Soul SHIIRO. The song shows me in a whole new beast mode, with smooth transitions between English and Nigerian Pidgin backed with melodious harmonies. Sure to get you dancing. ‘Odo’ is a Ghanaian word for love and it is captured in an upbeat love story about commitment and timeless affections. It centres the listener with sultry vocals and memorable melodies. A feel-good Afrobeat vibes, better with each play.”
Waje’s partnership with the platform began in March this year, with the exclusive release of her music video for her 2023 single, “I Promise”. The release of her EP on Gala Music underscores the impact of Blockchain technology as a new avenue in secure music distribution.
