Wizkid clinched the ‘Best Contemporary Duo or Group’ award, while Davido claimed the ‘Best International Song’ for their respective songs at the 2025 NAACP awards.

Nigerian music heavyweights, Wizkid and Davido, have been announced as winners at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, which aired on February 22, 2025 on BET and was simulcast across multiple networks.
Wizkid won in the category of ‘Best Contemporary Duo or Group’ for “Piece of My Heart”, his sultry collaboration with Brent Faiyaz which melds his fluid Afro-Pop touch with the American singer’s pensive R&B stylings.
Davido, on the other hand, secured the ‘Best International Song’ award for his contribution to Chris Brown’s “Hmmm”. This marks another milestone in Davido and Chris Brown’s collaboration, following their 2024 victory in the ‘Best Contemporary Duo’ category for “Sensational”.
The NAACP Image Awards is an annual ceremony presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to honor outstanding performances in film, television, theatre, music, and literature. The award show continues to recognize Black excellence across various fields in entertainment.
