Submissions are officially open for the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, set to hold this year. The submission window opened on 11th January 2026 and will run through 15th February 2026.

Submissions are officially open for the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), set to hold this year. The submission window opened on 11th January 2026 and will run through 15th February 2026, with entries accepted for film, television, and digital content across Africa.

The 12th AMVCAs will present awards in 32 categories, 18 of which will be jury-decided, alongside 11 audience-voted categories. The ceremony’s flagship honours will also return, including the Trailblazer Award and two Special Recognition Awards for Lifetime Achievement.

Notable additions to the category lineup this year are Best Indigenous Language – North Africa and Best Indigenous Language – Central Africa. These new categories expand the AMVCA’s Indigenous Language awards, which previously recognised works from West Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa.

Titles produced and broadcast or publicly exhibited between 1st January 2025 and 31st December 2025 are eligible for submission. Feature-length films must have been screened in cinemas, aired on linear television, or released on streaming platforms to qualify. Filmmakers and creators are required to upload full preview copies of the eligible work exactly as screened or broadcast, and complete the online submission process through the approved portal.

Presented by MultiChoice (now a Canal+ subsidiary), the AMVCAs celebrate excellence in television, film, and digital content creation across Nollywood and the entire African entertainment industry. The awards ceremony for the 12th edition is expected to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, in May 2026, with further details to be announced in the coming months.
