Chukwuebuka Ibeh to Facilitate Literature Masterclass for Aspiring Writers in Enugu

Chukwuebuka Ibeh, acclaimed author of the novel Blessings, will facilitate an informal literary masterclass for young up-and-coming writers working in prose and poetry as part of efforts to solidify the ongoing literary renaissance in the southeast.

The masterclass, scheduled for March 12, 2026, will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an intermission at noon for lunch. The prose class will be taught by Chukwuebuka Ibeh, while the poetry class will be led by Nonso Njoku. Both sessions are designed to create an intimate learning environment where emerging writers can receive direct feedback and guidance from established literary voices.

The workshop aims to provide participants with practical tools to help sharpen their craft and insights into what constitutes good writing and reading. Through hands-on exercises, discussions, and critiques, participants will explore techniques for developing compelling narratives, creating vivid characters, and refining their unique voices.

Interested participants should send a flash fiction piece of under 1,000 words to ci005@bucknell.edu. Interested poets should send up to two poems to the same email address. The deadline for submission is March 7, 2026, and participants will be notified on March 8. Accepted participants will receive a token for their transportation, ensuring accessibility for writers across the region.
