Call of My Life, the upcoming romantic comedy from rising Nigerian production company, Bluhouse Studios, has secured a release date. The directorial feature debut from Dammy Twitch—renowned for his work in music video directing, including Davido’s “Kante” and Angélique Kidjo’s “Joy”—the rom-com is set for a nationwide theatrical release on 15th May, 2026.

Set and shot across Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu, the film boasts a stellar cast led by Uzoamaka Power, Andrew Bunting, and Zubby Michael, supported by Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Beverly Osu, Justin ‘UG’ Ugonna, and Broda Shaggi, with live performances by Nigerian music stars, Johnny Drille and Cobhams Asuquo.

Call of My Life follows Soluchi (Power), a hopeless romantic and call-centre agent still carrying the scars of heartbreak after being jilted by her former lover, Kalu (Michael). When a routine customer call unexpectedly connects her with the magnetic Eli (Bunting), Soluchi is drawn into a new possibility, one that may finally lead her to the love story she has always desired.

Produced by Blessing Uzzi (Freedom Way (2024)) for Bluhouse Studios and written by Uzoamaka Power, Call of My Life marks another promising collaboration between the two filmmakers following the short films Zikoko Life’s “My Body, God’s Temple” (2025) (starring Power and Bunting) and Siraam (2025), both co-produced by Bluhouse Studios alongside Big Cabal Media.

In a statement made available to Afrocritik, Blessing Uzzi noted that producing Call of My Life was important to show the range of stories Bluhouse Studios can tell. “After Freedom Way, I wanted to explore something softer but equally meaningful. At a time when many feel jaded about love, I wanted to create a film that is hopeful and uplifting, a story that reminds us to believe in love again,” Uzzi said.

For director Dammy Twitch, who previously worked with Uzzi and Bluhouse on his debut short film, I Hate It Here (2023), choosing a romance story for his first film was instinctive. “As it’s my first step into feature filmmaking, I wanted it to reflect my heart. And my heart has always been rooted in love and happiness. I hope the movie finds a place in everyone’s heart.”

Screenwriter and lead actor Uzoamaka Power added: “I love love—finding it, losing it, yearning for it, and sometimes losing ourselves in it. I’m always curious about what it does to us, how it stretches us, and how quickly we begin to measure ourselves by it.

“I wrote Call of My Life from that curiosity. It began as something personal, but then became about the characters—and the responsibility to tell their story truthfully. Starring in the film meant sitting with those emotions in a very real way. This film is my way of holding love gently, in all its beauty and complexity,” Power revealed.

Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, Call of My Life is Bluhouse Studios’ second theatrical release, following the theatrical run of Freedom Way in 2025.
